Song #1

I heard of those sad piano ballads that seemed to drown out all the other sounds in the store:  the greeters saying hello to customers, the beeping of the cash registers, the overhead announcements.  It was like being in a drawn-out vacuum, this song about the fragility of life and like a realist, I thought about how someday my ashes would be trashed.  That damn song from the August soundtrack at the Gap effectively made me feel like crap.  But it doesn’t take much, let’s be honest.
